Advantages

Ultima compressors are 100% oil and silicone free and comply with ISO 8573-1 CLASS 0 (2010), making them the ideal choice for demanding oil-free applications in the food and beverage, pharmacy, electronics and automotive sectors.

Ultima contributes to cost savings in many ways. Not only do they offer excellent efficiency and significantly reduce life cycle costs, Ultima requires on average 3.4 m less space (or up to 37 % less) than a conventional two-stage oil-free compressor. This allows for easy installation in the smallest possible space and not only a benefit where space is limited, it also translates into cost of ownership savings.

Design

Exclusive design unit

Traditional oil-free compressors are driven by a single motor through a gearbox which in turn drives the low and high pressure air pumps. The gearboxes require oil and produce friction, which equates to energy loss. Ultima uses ultra-high efficiency motors that replace the gearbox and is the only motor that optimizes performance across the entire volume range, as the air pumps can be driven at different speeds depending on demand. With a single motor for both air pumps this is not possible. This is where Ultima is hard to beat.

Ultima’s design uses an intelligent “digital gearbox” that continuously monitors and independently adjusts the speeds of each pump element, ensuring maximum efficiency and pressure ratios at all times.

When any speed-regulated compressor goes to the minimum speed, it is at idle. For any compressor, this is a waste of energy. The latter uses 45 % less energy at idle than a conventional two-stage compressor and a 160 kW compressor consumes only 8 kW at idle.

Efficiency – 160 kW at 10 bar (g)
